Visiting the Smoke House
While Cousin W. was our "birthday" cake boy and Cousin S. is our bread boy, B. is our summer sausage boy. We scheduled a trip to LaPlace to a sausage smoke house and took a tour. We bought some goodies too. Hoghead cheese, mmmm. Cracklins, mmm. Oh yes, and among other buys, we bought smoked pig tails to cook in red beans. They use pecan logs to burn. The building was built in 1928 and is made of strong cypress.

Why Children Should Spend Time with Granny...
B. and I were making a town for our Hotwheels. We made buildings, houses, a park, streets, signs and parking spaces. B. remembered that Granny uses handicap parking when we go places so he made a wheelchair painting on our cement. Grandparents can make the younger ones aware of so many things. And one thing B. is aware of is thinking about people other than himself. Great idea B.!
Well, he still thinks of himself from time to time. Just take a peek at that speed limit!
