Visiting the Smoke House

While Cousin W. was our "birthday" cake boy and Cousin S. is our bread boy, B. is our summer sausage boy. We scheduled a trip to LaPlace to a sausage smoke house and took a tour. We bought some goodies too. Hoghead cheese, mmmm. Cracklins, mmm. Oh yes, and among other buys, we bought smoked pig tails to cook in red beans. They use pecan logs to burn. The building was built in 1928 and is made of strong cypress.

Library Program Completed! WINNER!

B. completed all 7 levels of the summer reading program at our local library. It was great fun picking out new books to read. Look at his trophy!
